Boston wants to trade --- any takers??

Celtics reportedly want to trade bad contracts they got from Nets. Any Takers?

As much as landing Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett legitimized the Nets as a team to be reckoned with, their trade with the Celtics was almost as important for the fact they dumped the two worst contracts on their roster — Kris Humphries (one year, $12 million) and the awful Gerald Wallace deal (three years, $30 million remaining).

Now Boston wants to find a sucker trade partner to take on those deals, reports A. Sherrod Blakely at CSNNE.com.
However, CSNNE Celtics insider Sherrod Blakely has learned that the team may be looking to deal those two…

The Celtics currently have more players than they can keep on the active roster, thus the possibilities of trades.
It’s not going to be easy to move either of these guys, especially Wallace.

Obviously you can move the two (Boston just did), but your trading partner is going to want a sweetener. Or two. Meaning Boston is going to throw in some picks or young players, the kinds of assets they are trying to stockpile to rebuild (don’t call it tanking).

It was obvious the moment the Celtics made this trade they would try to move Humphries and Wallace. They are anchors on the rebuilding effort. It’s just not going to be that easy to find a deal that works for Boston.

They might be able to dump Humphries' expiring contract, but they are on the hook for three years of Wallace who looks done.

They just need to keep those guys and hold their future draft picks.

I can't believe they considered it a good deal to take back Wallace.

Why do you think Simmons looked like he ate glass during the draft after that trade came down the line? They traded the one player on the squad he wanted to retire a Celtic (Pierce) and took one the one contract he hated (he made endless fun of that contract in his writing). It's be kinda like trading Manu from 2yrs ago and Timmy(if he had come in say, 2005 and won one or two rings here) for 3 years of today's Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, and some iffy picks. Fans would have rioted.

The summer and pre-season is still young for Boston fans.
