Actual Signings

Have the Spurs actually signed anyone yet? We've heard the announcements that the 4 would sign, but I haven't seen anything that says the deals are done.

If not, I wonder why? Trade in the works?

I've been scouring all the websites and there's no mention of any Spurs signings. Sounds fishy to me, I'm thinking as you guys are that there's something in the wind. I guess we'll just have to calmly sit and wait for the drum roll..........

There is something in the wind or there is absolutely nothing in the wind or we hear tomorrow or so we were close as hell to getting someone we wanted but it fell through like it has a few times in the past :( I hope it is something.

I read on twitter that Gino/Tiago are in South America...

Pendergraph I have no idea....And Marco I have seen acknowledge he is gonna be a Spur on the Italian National channel and his twitter account but nothing like signing a contract....

It's amazing that with all this twitter/social Media/Website/News not one person has mentioned if/when the press Conferance or signings will take place....

I'm in NY...so I would guess some of you in SA would have a better feel for when they would be...

Nothing?

You'd think that wouldn't you but in reality you very rarely see stories first about the Spurs on MySanAntonio.com (heck they still have a story about the Spurs being hot in pursuit of Kyle Korver and being in the lead for Oden) and their Twitter account is mostly retweets of others and forget about going to ExpressNews.com, there's one reporter (he's really good most of the time by the way) and a columnist, and they want you to pay a premium for the privilege too, and since I have no interest in any of the other SA news, it's not a fiscally sound way to spend money for me to subscribe.

If you want the latest news snippets, you have to go to ProjectSpurs.com - I've actually made them one of my first stops when looking for news, Sports.Yahoo.com, hoopshype or insidehoops. Forget about espn unless you're looking for news about LA, Miami, or NY.

Oh well, such is the life of a fan of a small market team that prides itself on not sharing information.

I'm 99% sure we already know. The only unknown is Neal.

Here's the post from SpursNation:

Spurs make it official: Ginobili, Belinelli, Pendergraph sign free agent deals; Splitter’s deal expected soon

Manu Ginobili officially remains what general manager R.C. Buford calls “a big part of the heart and soul” of the Spurs.

The signing of the two-year free agent contract that brings the soon-to-be-36-year-old guard from Argentina back to San Antonio was announced by the club on Thursday.

The deals that will put guard Marco Bellinelli, who played last season for the Chicago Bulls, and forward Jeff Pendergraph, formerly with the Indiana Pacerws, in silver and black also were announced.

Starting center Tiago Splitter’s four-year contract has yet to be finalized but should be completed by week’s end.

Ginboili’s deal is for a reported $14 million over two seasons and Buford said the club continues to expect big things from the two-time All-Star, despite his age.

“Obviously, he’s been a big part of the heart and soul of our team for many years and we’re excited that he’s got a summer to take off from the national team and rejuvenate his body,” Buford said. “We’re expecting big things against from Manu.”

Buford said he expects Belinelli’s skills to fit well with the Spurs. The 6-foot-5 guard from Italy averaged 9.6 points and 2.0 assists in just under 26 minutes per game with the Bulls last season.

“He does a lot of things that fit the way we play, both from a skill and cultural perspective,” Buford said.

Pendergraph, 6-foot-9 and 250-pounds, came from the Indiana Pacers, and highly recommended by new assistant coach Jim Boylen, a former Pacers assistant.

“He’s a very physical player,” Buford said. “His skill set fits us. He’s a good passer who can play four and five. All indications are he’s an 18-foot jump shooter who just hasn’t had a lot of opportunities.”
