Spurs Summer Roster - 2013

Link: Spurs Nation

Cory Joseph, Nando De Colo and Aron Baynes are among the 14 members of the Spurs’ summer league roster.

The team will compete in the NBA Summer League from July 12-22 in Las Vegas. Also included are second-round picks Deshaun Thomas (2013) and Marcus Denmon (2012). Other notables include former University of Texas standouts Alexis Wangmene and Dexter Pittman.

Second-year Spurs assistant Ime Udoka will coach the team, which will hold several practices at the team facility before heading out to Las Vegas.

The Spurs are guaranteed at least five games in Las Vegas, with set dates against Charlotte (Friday), Toronto (Tuesday) and Atlanta (July 15). The 22-team field will then be seeded for a tournament culminating in a championship game on July 22.

Baynes was signed midway through last season out of Europe. The 6-foot-10 Australian averaged 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 16 appearances.

De Colo was much more active, averaging 3.8 points and 1.9 assists in 72 games out of France. But he played just 14 minutes in the postseason as head coach Gregg Popovich ceded much of his time to Joseph, a more physical and active defender.

The former first-round pick out of UT 4.5 points in his second season, spending much of his time shuttling back and forth between Austin in the Developmental League before sticking on the potseason roster.

Denmon bounced back from a broken foot to have a respectable rookie season with Elan Chalon in the French Pro A League. Thomas averaged 19.8 points last season to earn first-team All-Big 10 honors with Ohio State.

Thanks for posting. How did you make the roster look like a table?
It doesn't work with a simple copy/paste.

Eddy -- believe it or not, that's exactly what I did, copy/paste. However, when I did the copy from the article, I had the article displayed in Internet Explorer and pasted it into SR which was displayed in Firefox. I don't know if that makes any difference, but those are the steps I followed. I agree with you, I've never done that before, been able to copy a table format with a simple copy/paste and I have to confess, when I did the paste, it surprised me.

I agree with Eddy from Austin. Fantastic Job alh1020!
I will try to do what you mentioned and see. The only one I have seen done that sometimes was Mr. pjm when he posted some of the pick the winners results.

Think I read somewhere that the plan for the summer league is to have Nando play more 2, grooming him to play the same type of off the bench role that Manu plays.

If that's the case, it suggests a stronger push to have Joseph as the consistent backup PG.

This might be what you read (from HoopHype rumors page):

Jeff McDonald: Coach Ime Udoka says Nando De Colo will play mostly off the ball in Vegas. Twitter @JMcDonald_SAEN

Jeff McDonald: Cory Joseph will handle point guard duties, given a chance to run the team. Twitter @JMcDonald_SAEN

Jeff McDonald: Patty Mills, recovering from foot surgery, is working out with Summer League team in SA but will not travel to Las Vegas. Twitter @JMcDonald_SAEN

Lakers must be grasping for anything. I count 19 players on their Summer League roster.
