:shocked

The deal that would send Doc Rivers from the Boston Celtics to the Los Angeles Clippers may be close to completion, as the teams have reportedly agreed to a deal in principle.

They do know he's a coach and not a player right??? :bs

Uwe Blab 06-23-13 05:24 PM

Yeah, this is the first I've ever heard of a coach being traded. I think Doc is a little overrated as a coach though.

spurscrazed 06-23-13 07:33 PM

Well.... I did read but could not imagine Wojnarowsk tweet earlier today that C's were offered future 1st Round pick for that D Rivers Coach!!!facepalm

..Lol

You think NBA aka Commish people will say a player can not be involved in the Doc Rivers deal, only cash and future picks (not technically players yet)....?

Where did you hear that? ESPN says it's been approved by the NBA.

NBA approves deal sending Doc Rivers to Los Angeles Clippers from Boston Celtics, source says - ESPN

grizzly_bexar 06-24-13 10:47 PM

My bad, I guess. I saw something on the web earlier today indicating Stern wouldn't allow that kind of thing, but I guess that was mistaken.

doom32x4 06-25-13 12:25 AM

Stern would not allow a trade that involved both players and a coach. There is precedent for this, I think it happened in the 80's or 70's. Essentially since Doc is still under contract, the Celtics allow him to break contract and the Clippers must provide compensation for that.

JuanCaca 06-25-13 05:33 PM

can we trade 28th pick, sign and trade blair and tracy from silver dancers for 10th pick?
