If you set the highlight reel aside and look at the numbers, the much older Duncan comes out on top.

Blake Griffin is an amazing, athletic talent and his game is extremely marketable for Los Angeles Clippers and the NBA. He is often on the giving-in of some of the most spectacular dunks in NBA history but that is all he is known for at this juncture of his career. Griffin has yet to bring a consistent post-game to his repertoire and no one takes advantage of that oversight more than Tim Duncan.

Blake is an amazing athlete, way better than Duncan ever was. However when you're talking about the game of basketball Duncan is clearly the better player. Duncan came into the league ready to go, and has set milestones all throughout his career and continues to do so. Blake is personally a favorite of mine because of how athletic he is, but his game has waaaaaaaay too much that could use improvement. Also think about this, Blake is an ok defender at best, Duncan till today is a force defensively. There's really just no comparison.

Go Timmy Go!

Granted, Griffin is a very good athlete but take away the leaping and dunking, then what kind of baller is he? Now take Duncan – he’s all around great and he’s proved it for years and right into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. He’s the ‘Big Fundamental’!! And he is a San Antonio Spur….for life.

There is no comparison at this juncture between the two!!

Saw the headline. Immediate reaction: Well, duh!

Got to remember that people outside of SA wouldnt automatically give Duncan the nod at this point of his career...at 36...so thats why the title begged the question. So it may not be as clear cut and obvious to the casual fan
