Chris Paul shows off his acting chops with wild flop

By Rob Mahoney
Chris Paul isn’t just a master of exaggerating contact, but a flopping wizard capable of conjuring phantom fouls out of thin air. That sleight of hand is an altogether riskier gambit, but one far less reliant on situation. Because of Paul’s size and tendency to mix it up with other NBA players, he’s been able to draw the occasional foul merely by standing close to certain opponents and flailing wildly in response to the slightest movement. It is, without fail, hilarious — both for Paul’s completely unneeded gamesmanship and the often incredulous looks Paul receives from his flopping victims.

On Wednesday, Paul cleverly marked DeMarcus Cousins for just such a flop, though frankly his work on this play was unconvincing. It may have been enough to catch the peripheral vision of some officials on some nights, but this crew wasn’t fooled, leaving Paul to flutter through his motion in the backcourt before attempting to casually return to the game. Watch, enjoy and try to hold back the laughter over one of the game’s best getting caught in the act.

I, for one, think the league should stand up and recognize CP3 for his fine acting abilities and present him with a stiff fine for his efforts and a game or two suspension. Maybe this slap in the face will open somebody's eyes and this s*it will come to an end.

Agreed. The players were warned at the beginning of the season.

Agreed but I heard TBJ talking about it and the question is because a foul wasn't called will he avoid fine etc and he gets away with it, they didn't know the ruling has anyone here heard?

chris paul is the reason i can not root for the clippers. this act has gotten tiresome. and because of it i would never put him in the top echelon of point guards in the league.

Looks like the league issued a warning to Paul on Thursday. Here's a link to an article talking about it and an exerpt from the article:

Thursday the league cracked down on two flopping incidents with warnings (the first violation for each player). Both are from the same game. First is Chris Paul in the video above, with what is my favorite flop of the year. CP3 is one of the league’s most notorious floppers and this was a particularly egregious attempt to draw a foul on DeMarcus Cousins.
The other is from Tyreke Evans (video below). After Matt Barnes blows the uncontested layup Evans gets the rebound and while there is a little contact Evans sells it like there was a sniper in the third row. It works, he got the foul call (from the referee on the other side of the play, shielded from the acting.
