Where was the toughness! Aggression! Push Back!

Look I get that it was the 2nd gm of btb
but the guys got pushed around and they
didn't respond. They lacked aggression,
toughness! Spurs can not afford to be
roughed up, that would send the wrong
message to any opposing team, especially
During the playoff.
I'm just so mad cuz that's
exactly how OKC took the series from
us last year.

My thoughts exactly. I was thinking about that OKC series as well. David Lee was taking it to every Spur out there. 22 rebounds!!!

Tonight a bad night and we got to OT! Lee had a great night to say the least and Jack turned into Jordan for some reason, relax! We were on a back to back and it took that much to beat us! I would not worry over one game although it sucked. Relax.

Seemed like we went away from our game plan.

Where were the pick and roll's with tiago.

It was back to dumping it in to Duncan.

Duncan was noneffective on offence. He didn't draw doubles, and he didn't score efficiently.

too many plays called for him on the block.

This is why I think they are still missing something. Parker, as great as he is, will draw a lot of attention. And with a good young defensive team, they can keep him from penetrating at will. With that, they can also keep guys on the perimeter to defend the 3. They are going to need someone else to step it up when that happens. Hopefully someone on the team can do that. You have a guy like David Lee go off on you, it would have been nice to have had a Josh Smith out there. On the same token though, this is the second to last game of a long road trip, second of a back to back, coming off a statement win, etc.

Tired legs and mentally/emotionally spent? Seems the emotional aspect of playing the Clips and getting up for them left these guys flat. Also wondering how much pain Leonard is playing with. The three point misses would lead one to think one or all these factors played into the result.

In any case, I would not want to be the Suns tomorrow or Wednesday.

They need to put Leonard in some specific scoring situations other than the spot up 3. I liked the post up, I like the baseline drive, I like slash from the top of the key (I don't like so much the 18 foot just shoot it shot). Pick one of those and integrate it into our offense.

And what about a pick and roll with the ball in Kawhi's hands? Isn't that what this offense is all about?

Anyway, my point is, I think if we can get consistent scoring and defense from Kawhi and Danny Green, we will have improved enough to beat OKC.

That game last night focused the offense too much around Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. (Especially TD - No More Post Up!!!!!)

I can understand your concerns but its not "exactly how OKC took the series".

The circumstances are very different.

There are no back to backs in the playoffs.
GSW was not playing a back to back and the Spurs were.
The Spurs were not traveling from home but rather LA.
It was the 3rd road game against the 3rd different team in 5 days for the Spurs.

None of this occurs in the playoffs.

Exactly!

I wouldn't worry about it much.

I guess the Spurs fought real hard and took then to OT which was not so bad.

It was some plays that the Warriors ran, Pop thought Spurs still have more GAS but I guess some Spurs players were just dead tired and could not fight back.

Give some credit to the Warriors, they played tough and they were at home. No Way they can beat this Spurs team at our HOME!

Not worried about it that much. It is frustrating still but none of this occurs in the Playoff.

Watch Spurs bounce back big time and KILL the SUNS on Sunday!

We have played 57 games so far with only 13 losses! We can lose 7 more and still finish with 62 wins. What else do you all want! It's one (1) loss, get over it.

Yes their offense went south, missed too many opem shots and Timmy forced too many when he had a wide open player at the top of the key. But with all that they still went to OT. If they hit one of those 10+ ft's tehy missed in the 2nd half we'd be celebrating/disecting a victory!

I get that its just one lose, its the way they lost that concerns me.
1. Leonard didn't play the night before. (Knee,Rest)
2. Duncan only played 16min vs Clips.
3. Manu I think only played 18min
4. Tony I think played 26-28min.
5. They left LA to Sac. Not that far away.
6. Where was the tough guy Tiago that's been playin in TD absence.

THEY GOT BIG BOYd
They controlled tempo, aggression, kept their cool. That's our game! Spurs didn't do any of that, which is what Pop was sayin about OKC "IDENTITY THEFT"! They stole our game!
Btb shouldn't have been that big a deal, in this case. They showed toughness, Spurs didn't it just that simple.

I'm just mad and disgusted and I'm pretty sure they (Spurs) were too.
I'm just sayin D.Lee has always had good games vs Spurs and Boguet(?)Wasn't even playin, he always has big # vs Spurs.

I didn't watch the game....

disregard if you must : My Knock on this team this year has been toughness. If the other team bullies and pushes the Spurs, we are going to lose. I saw this when we played NYK and the Clippers earlier this season. Should an average team figure out they can push us around and bully us, they can beat us.

That is the big question. He was on the floor for 26 minutes with a +/- of +10. He went 4 of 7 for 10 points and 5 boards. HE HAD ZERO FOULS! So where was he? He was riding the pine while TD played 4 down with a "spread the floor" Boris Diaw in Tiago's place. Then we had a one step slow Ginobili at the top of the key playing PG.

This is the same formula that lost us the last 2 games of the season last year.

That can't be the formula anymore.

It is TP with the ball in the 4th quarter playing pick and roll with Tiago. Duncan being the pop option at the elbow. Manu and Leonard spotting up, slashing, back dooring. . . etc.

Nitpick if you want, but it seems to me that playing 3 road games in 4 nights had more to do with it than anything. Tony had no gas, and he is the motor for this team. Are we really supposed to believe that the Warriors have magically figured out how to guard Tony Parker when Chris Paul couldn't. Give me a break.

Maybe this story explains it.

Tony Parker Tried Hiding Triceps Injury From the San Antonio Spurs

Chris Paul’s elbow to Tony Parker’s right arm on Thursday night rendered him ineffective on the basketball court, but he wasn’t going to tell anyone. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich eventually figured it out, and sat his point guard last night as San Antonio beat the Phoenix Suns 97-87 (though Parker expects to play on Wednesday). Per the Express-News: “If Tony Parker had told Spurs coach Gregg Popovich about the excruciating pain in his right arm, he wouldn’t have played in Friday’s 107-101 overtime loss to the Warriors. An inadvertent elbow from guard Chris Paul hit the Spurs point guard just above the right elbow in Thursday’s game against the Clippers, but Parker stayed mum about how sore he was even after warming up and discovering his perimeter shot was affected by the pain. ‘He was a little too much in hero mode,’ Popovich said. . . . . . . . . . .’”
