D. Blair's agent disappointed that he wasn't traded by Spurs

Sports: Happy Walters, Dejuan Blair's agent on client not being traded "Obviously I am disappointed that we were not able to get a trade done but I trust Pop and RC and I know they tried their best and have Dejuan and the Spurs best interests at heart. When Pop needs Dejuan, he'll be ready to contribute as he always has been." Twitter

Would love to know what we were offered for him.

I don't blame him, Blair or the Spurs for feeling disappointed. Blair would love to get some floor time somewhere to establish some value in his walk year. Spurs would love to accomodate Blair and pick up an asset in the process. Too bad.

As an optimist, I'd love Blair to fall into some valuable minutes down the stretch or even in the tournament that lead to some unexpected wins.

I still don't understand what happened between him and Pop... he always plays so well.

I liked Blair, but he doesn't play D and when he's not in a rhythm offensively he makes boneheaded mistakes and pouts.

He has the talent to be a 17 and 9 kind of guy, but he doesn't seem to come to work everyday. He doesn't do the little things to that show effort to keep him on the floor and that is by choice. He also ate himself out of a line up, so he really doesn't do himself alot of favors, for a 6'6 Center.

Is he a (Restricted/unrestricted) free agent at the end of this year?

I, for one, am glad he's still a Spur. There, I said it.

He loves the game, he believes in himself, and I happen to think he gives off good vibes on the court. Depending on the matchups, he often makes the team better.

His skills have improved, though slowly, and if he continues to improve on his mid-range accuracy, he'll be that much more valuable to this team.

I see how you pointed this out clearly. Great Point Guapo!

According to this website Blair is (Unrestricted FA) at the end of this year.

A free agent does not become restricted until the team issues a qualifying offer.

This is good news. At least we are guaranteed to either draft, trade for, or sign big man this offseason. Because if not we will be way too small in the frontcourt when Blair leaves. Unless of course it's Popovich's plan to use Aaron Baynes in Blair's place for the next few years. That would explain the Spurs signing him to his multi-year contract.

Mark my words, Aaron Baynes is going to eventually become a regular part of the rotation if Blair walks at the end of the season
