Spurs assign Baynes to Toros https://twitter.com/arisports The San Antonio <S>#</S>Spurs have assigned Aron Baynes to the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League. Short stay? |
Good by Spurs he should get alot of PT. |
agreed , they did the same with DeColo. The spurs are the first I can tell that are really using the D League like a proper farm system. |
If anybody want to see Aron Bynes and Corey play with the Toros online or any othe D-League game go to The NBA Development League Channel on YouTube. NBA D-League (LIVE): Austin Toros @ Bakersfield Jam, 2013-2-1 NBA Development League YouTube Page |

Definitely. Excellent training grounds to send new players, who might normally sit at the end of the bench or behind it, to get some playing experience and time to learn the Spurs defensive/offensive schema or any player who is rehabing an injury to slowly get back their legs, ie., Kawhi Leonard of late. Baynes will be able to get his playing legs back, plus fine tune his skills against good competition and stay active rather than sit the bench for long periods of time. Since he's under contract and if his first game (technically 2nd game) stats are, he'll be back for the playoff run, no doubt about it. |

they just want to get Baynes used to the system through playing time I think. They'l' bring him up as needed. |
This means TD's coming back as well. Don't expect to see him for awhile, or if one of the bigs get injured. |
We need bigs! Down Timmay and now Bayes? |
Good Move - he needs playing time badly to be ready to contribute in a competitive game. |

Well, looks like this might be a short assignment with Timmay going down last night. Although i guess this does not necessitate bringing him back because we still have splits and diaw starting with db and bonner coming off the bench and then jackson playing the stretch... hmmm. id like to see him get some pt with the big boys leading up to the all star break. |
Maybe he rejoins the team for the rodeo road trip if Tim is in question. |
