J.J. Redick is the name most teams call about; however, there is interest in Jameer Nelson and Arron Afflalo.
The Magic are sitting on a $17 million Traded Player Exception, which has gotten them involved in several complex situations. Nothing is close with the Magic and anything they’ll do is likely going to drop at or near the trade deadline.
Redick is an ending contract and there is a real belief that if Orlando doesn’t come with serious money and years, that Redick will walk to a contender.
For Redick’s part he has tried to put everyone at ease saying all the right things about wanting to stay, but if there is a catalyst piece that helps Orlando make some bigger moves its likely him.
There are two contracts the Magic would love to package in with any deal they make and that’s Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu. Neither is overly attractive, but one or both could be the cost of doing business, especially for a team that wants Reddick or a team that wants to use Orlando’s TPE to facilitate a bigger deal.
The Magic have been linked to the Memphis Grizzlies and Rudy Gay, although, it’s looking like Orlando’s involvement might not be to keep Gay for themselves, but rather move him on for assets that fit their long-term plan a little better.
Redick to C's?
As Feb. 21 NBA trade deadline looms, I'm told the Boston Celtics are coveting Orlando Magic SG J.J. Redick.

Boston is always interested in everybody, as of late anyway. that's killed their chemistry, but it's doubtful the C's can offer up anything to make the Magic trade in their own conference.
they're paranoid he'll go to a contender for nothing, so look for someone in the West to nab him up. wouldn't be surprised if Golden State bites.
If you go to the Magic store, you get Hedo's contract as a door prize. No exceptions.
Seriously, though, Magic had a better offer from HOU, but took the LAL deal to go full rebuild mode. I'd expect them to keep the faith at least through this year's trade deadline.
The Boston Celtics have "ramped up" their interest level in J.J. Redick. Size obviously Celts' priority if they do deal before Feb. 21 trade deadline but word is they hope to work way into Redick mix if they can.
It was reported last week that the Celtics expressed strong interest in the Orlando Magic guard, who's having a career season, averaging almost 15 points and 4.4 assists.
Shooting from the two-guard spot has been a void for the Celtics throughout the season.
