Report: Donte Greene to workout for Spurs Apparently, the San Antonio Spurs may not be too satisfied with their roster just yet. According to Hoopsworld.com, the Spurs are interested in free agent forward Donte Greene. Click HERE to read the entire article |
6-9 or 10 active body that stretches the floor, small forward or small ball power forward. Why are we interested? Because Jackson continues to get hurt? |
it might be that Pop wants another guy who can play the PF/C spot since we're running a 3 big man rotation. he can be insurance for Jax too. also Manu/Jax will be FA's next year so if he signs this year and next he can easily be a cheap replacement |
:smirk Bye Jack. |
The spurs scouting is some of the best on the planet, but even they need to do something for the dog days of the season |
wow, I forgot about this guy. I'm surprised no one has signed him yet, for a minimum contract I'd sign this guy any day. Hope it works out, how about that two Green's wearing silver and black. |

Let's sign DGREENE so we will have DGreen + DGreene! :wink Def a good insurance to have him here. Who knows he might even end up that Missing Chip! |
He has the size and talent but he is young and those players dont sign with the Spurs. Its not there. |

Rockettes need him to replace their head case White and Morey has been known to overpay... |
My only comment would be why the last minute run on this guy? Granted, he might fit the bill but if he’s been an unrestricted free agent all this time, why hasn’t anybody grabbed him before now? I guess Brooklyn, New Orleans, Chicago, Houston, Minnesota and the Spurs all realized after this past period of team evaluation, they must be missing something in the kitchen. It must be nice to be wanted….at the last minute, if the price is right. Come on down. |

no idea how the "retaining rights" thing works since we somehow had Mills' rights along with Diaw last season when they were signed midseason, so if he signs and we keep his rights, that's also insurance in case Manu/Jax don't return next season. |

LEAVE HARDEN ALONE!!!!!! Talk to any rockette fan and you'll learn to fear the beard He's a combination of Jerry West, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan wrapped up in one. He's the total package, he scores, he defends, he slices, he dices, he's what Tracy McGrady should have been. He's totally worth 15 million a year. |

If there was any way they could still get this guy it would be luck but they would have to let Blair go. |

First, Lin is a steal at $5M/year for years 1 and 2. If he's still there for the third year, you paid $8M+/year for your starting point guard. Not real outrageous money. If he isn't your starting point guard, then he's overpaid. That's how the first month of the season looked. If he's just average in years 1 and 2, then he's a $15M expiring contract in year three. We'll see what value that has with the new CBA in 3 years. Asik, on the other hand, has been well worth the same contract. but the same numbers apply in year three. |
