Alexandra "Sasha" McHale, the daughter of Houston Rockets coach Kevin McHale, died Saturday afternoon, the team announced. She was 22 years old.

McHale took a leave of absence to be with his daughter and family in Minneapolis on Nov. 10. Sasha McHale had battled lupus, an autoimmune disease, and was hospitalized with a related condition, according to the Houston Chronicle, though the team never disclosed the specific reason.

So sad, but does anyone know the reason of the death? Obviously it's not normal to die at 23 but I haven't read what she was ill with, regardless I'm saddened by the news and wish them the best.

With M D Anderson Hospital in Houston and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, I wonder if McHale's choices of franchises to work for were contingent upon that.
