Spurs in Process of Calling Up Anderson, Interested in Pietrus The San Antonio Spurs' small forward woes continue with injuries to starter Kawhi Leonard (left knee quadriceps tendinitis) and backup Stephen Jackson (fractured right pinky). While Leonard will be back sooner than Jackson (out 4-6 weeks), the Spurs are wasting no time in calling up someone to fill in some holes on the roster from the NBA D-League. According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Spurs are in the process of calling up former Spur James Anderson from the NBA D-League: Spurs in Process of Calling Up Anderson, Interested in Pietrus |
Welcome back James. Watch him shine like he did previously to getting hurt his freshman year in the big leagues :). One can dream can't he? |
I never really like Andersons game here, but hope he does well. |
With regards to Pietrus, do we really want the entire freaking French national team? It's not like they've ever won anything internationally. |
I think Duncan said it best post game when he mentioned that the Spurs have now lost some valuable height on the court and Tim would be the one who knows what its like not to have it along side him. Anderson and Pietrius at 6-6" will not solve that. The only purpose I see them serving is to keep Manu and Green from having to play extended minutes. |
For the LOVE of God Spurs GM and Front Office! Just bring anyone who can put the ball in the hall, DEFEND, and have some brain which can absorb Pop's system! :banghead:banghead:banghead |

Did anyone read the article? Someone should Marc Stein, the Spurs have 3, not 2, French countrymen playing for our beloved Spurs. |
that quote about the 2 frenchies was Stein but, do you know who wrote the article? |
If Anderson is available , I wouldn't mind a ten day contract or two tomgetnus over the hump. |

Welcome back James. Here's to your foot being completely healed and making the most of your second chance. FireySpurs |
I am not impressed by Pietrus' height, shooting percentages (especially at the FT line) or his nerve. I know several years back the Spurs had an interest in him, but he's lost quite a bit since then. In playoffs, forget it, he folds like a lawn chair and I think our biggest need is rebounding and defensive height. I still say Kenyon Martin would fit better. Dare I say, signing Pie true would be like signing two James Andersons. We don't need that weak-kneed off and on stuff. We need solid! |
And I thought we were getting back Willie Anderson http://hoopedia.nba.com/images/thumb...e_anderson.jpg |
Pietrus played well with Captain Jack since they were on that GS Dream team which Blew the Mavs on the first round. It could be motivating to see him play along with him again. Quote:
James Anderson obviously is the next one. It looks like he is meant to play in a Silver and Black uni this year. Let us see if he would get motivated and "Seize this Golden Opportunity" :hat Sometimes When Bad Things Happen To Good People, Not So Good People Suddenly Get Blessed & Become Good!!!!!!:wink You never know! It might be a blessing in disguise... Go Spurs Go! |
