But Kidd, whose Nets lost to the Spurs in the 2003 Finals, got his ring with Dallas two years ago. He’s been back numerous times before, but he was asked how close he was to signing with San Antonio nine years ago. “Very,” Kidd said. “Very close. If it wasn’t for thinking that I could win a championship in Jersey I would have came here. But I thought we had a chance to still win and be competitive. It just didn’t work out that way.” Al Iannazzone's post on New York Knicks | Latest updates on Sulia |

I, for one, am glad he chose the path that he did. That's what he gets for thinking.

Kidd signs, Parker gets bumped down to backup PG or SG (from what people reported), Manu doesn't get unleashed in 2005, and we probably don't keep Ginobili anyway since Bowen had to take a paycut so we can keep him. all in all, good he didn't. i wish we'd just forget about this subject

Manu would've still been unleashed in 2005. I agree on the Parker thing though. |

I am SOOOOO Glad Jason (evil/bad karma) Kidd refused our FO offer and we ended up Having our GREAT Finals MVP in 07 Champion Tony Parker and Champion Manu and Champion Bruce on our roster. This was a blessing in disguise for our team. Thank you Lord for that! ![]() We could have ended up with an old Jason Kidd and a losing team since we could not afford so many good fit KEY players if we had signed him that is for sure. I would never ever ever ever regret any split second of this forever! Screw Jason Kidd and his made worst regrettable decision not to come to SA. Rightfully TD likes playing with Great players but what fits in our system is never a Greedy playing such a Kidd who wanted all the pie and eat it too... Who would think NJ would win in his right mind! Horrible decision for JKidd to stay in NJ and Joumana (at that time they were married) wanting a career close to all the Sport in NY... Screw you JKidd. Forever!
