Can Kawhi Leonard Become a Scorer? Written by David Rountree Saturday, 11 August 2012 12:09 The Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard is the most athletic wing player they have; it’s time for him to move pass just being a spot-up shooter. The San Antonio Spurs seem to be going into next season with the same roster that loss in the Conference Finals to the Oklahoma City Thunder, so what do they expect to be the difference next year? Coach Popovich and his staff seem to be putting faith on the improvement of their younger players. Kawhi Leonard is by far the Spurs best up and coming player and the Spurs need him to be more of a scorer. READ MORE AT MVPTEXAS.COM |

Scottie Pippen like I think that is a great comment and a great observation. But Scottie Pippen was the second best player on this team (except the two seasons Jordan retired for baseball) and Pippen was great in that do it all role. I could see Leonard being that same type of player in a few seasons but he will need to be that second player not the best player. That is the problem I see with the Spurs along with thier current lack of size. Where or when is San Antonio gonna find that frachise player to pair with Leanord?

I think he can become a score. That is obviously what they were working on in summer league, but with all our firepower, he doesn't have to be a 20 point a game guy to make a huge difference. Merely getting consistently 12 to 15 points a game would be huge.
