Patty stood and delivered after missing a couple, told the local interview afterwards that its a shooters mentality... nice to see a bit of confidence building, now Pop can have another Gary to use as a run and gun necessary evil.

Best thing as an AUS fan this olympics is the style Brett has them playing, very Spurs like system around the team play will beat more on paper talent.... and a bit old school Spurs where it is Defence first, probably by necessity. They stifled Russia out of their usual game.

I thought we played well when TJ ford wad healthy and would come in for Tony. It gave the spurs a legitimate ball handler off the bench and let Neal play naturally off the ball. If we can commit to Patty Mills at the number 1 guy off the bench, we could shore up alot of our late season problems.

Oh no doubt at all about that. He might have made a difference in a game or two off the bench with his scoring. Neal probably got the mins

As an Australian Spurs supporter, I was looking to see Mills really step up and run the team as the dominant PG. From what I saw, he definately didn't do that, we went with a good college pg Bellavadova, or a couple of quality SG and SF's effectively as the back-ups at the point. That leaves me a bit unclear as to whether Mills CAN run the point very well, given we had a Spurs coach running the team, who presumably knows Mills strengths and weaknesses well. From what I saw passing isn't a strength (being reasonably kind), which is a pity because his shooting and dribble penetration certainly are. Time will tell.
