How About Andray Blatche

Clear waivers today, is 6'11" last year was 8.5 PPG, 5.80 RPG, 1.1 AGP, +8.88 EFF - considered a head case by some, but can play

For the minimum, worth a shot. It's probably his last chance in the NBA.

After taking a look at his career stats and what he’s done in Wash, I may have short changed Blatche on my estimates. I’m sure the Spurs FO already know he might be a head case, of sorts, but having spent his entire career in a Wizards uniform, he might be an interesting big prospect if he were to play under different leadership and team environment. At 26, he’s already shown that he can score if given the chance (2009-10, PPG 14.1, RPG 6.3; 2010-11, PPG 16.8, RPG 8 with a career 46% FGA), maybe playing behind or next to Duncan he can find himself again. I’d offer only the vet minimum and if he were to sign, we might have a steal.

Is that the beachfront property you sold the Spurs FO when they re signed Bonner? If so, at least this time it would come with improvements at closing....

I hadn't really thought about the angle that all he's ever known in this league was being a Washington Wizard, so maybe that makes a difference. But I'm guessing not much. Although we do have a history of taking on "problem guys" and making them into serviceable players. If we are going to do not eat things like take on aging veterans who are passed their prime and try to work them in, we might as well take on a head case project too.

Finally! Somebody willing to stick they're neck out there. Amen! It's one headcase amongst a veteran laden team. He would adapt to our custom, plus winning cures a lot of problems unlike at Washington.

I would definately resign Bonner again to his relatively small contract rather than a guy who was not valued enough he was amnestied from a team at the bottom with no real immediate replacement. There is a difference between S Jax, a proven commodity coming back into a system wanting to win..... To a true head case who is the butt of all jokes who's only nearly achievement is a stat that he missed and nearly took out a teammate to do.

There is troubled past and then there is stupid is as stupid does who is not interested in winning just the stat

So from the tone of your posts I take it you're most definitely against the Spurs signing Blatche? And the way it sounds, it's almost like he kicked your dog and stole your girlfriend but please never, ever, ever say the Spurs should resign the red rocket, that's just heresy ....

Andray Blatche. He's your man if Retama Park's "Fifty Cent Fridays" aren't doing it for you.

After reading that little tidbit, I see Andray Blatche as a Dennis Rodman wannabe. I'll stay with the Retama Park's 'Fifty Cent Fridays' for now until the B-ball season restarts.

Haha no I am safe in Australia, doubt our friend Andre can find it on the map, so no personal offence..... BTW I think he may mix up the kick and steal so more issues for him. It's just amazing how people look to other teams offcasts and problem players to suddenly become our saviors.

This can sometimes work but not if the player in question is as simple as Andre has shown himself to be.... people need to look at what a player has done without relying totally on stats, sure his stats may be ok but look at how he got them and the permanent internet joke he is for the way he has gone about it.

I stand by my unpalletable statement of the Red Rocket may not be popular but until you find a better option he is a reletively cheap 6'10 + body to rely on for good parts of the year.

Get both Blatche and Anderson.... The heck with it! Can we take some chances already. Active, shot blocking Anderson for the weakside, and Blatche a low risk prospect with all these veteran-layden team just might work. The worst possible thing is they sit at the end of the doghouse or gets released.
