AND SO DO I! TIM DUNCAN HATES KEVIN GARNETT BY SEAN SWEENEY  Tim Duncan (photo. Jonathan Mannion) The Spurs were supposed to be dead two years ago. Tim Duncan was too. But in just a few months, they’ve gone from an afterthought to a probable champion, an undefeated playoff team led by one player who may turn out to be one of the three greatest ones ever. Yes, Duncan could one day be above everyone outside of Bill Russell and Michael Jordan. It’s not out of the question, especially if San Antonio has more rings left in it. He’s not finished, it turns out, and thus we have a rekindled interest, the proverbial stories on what exactly Tim Duncan meant to us. Who was he? Duncan never let us in on much, but at least we now know he hates Kevin Garnett. Just a few weeks ago, I wrote one of the most disappointing aspects of the previous 10 years was seeing a rivalry between KG and TD fizzle out before it even began. Garnett’s teams were never good enough, and then he was traded across the country just as Duncan’s teams were fading. Despite all that, Duncan said it was always a war between himself and Garnett. I hate KG so much that I want to rip my own arm off and beat him to death with it! Who hates him more than me????????

I just think he's a coward. He'll talk stuff, but when someone comes up to him he waits for a teammate to "hold him back" and then starts acting like he wants to fight. That's along the same lines of Melo sucker punching and then running off.

| We may have missed out on some great battles. But more than anything, I think Duncan missed out. Look at those head-to-head numbers. He definitely relishes punking Garnett. yeah, we truly missed out that KG couldn't get his teams passed the first round

Tempest in a teacup. Duncan has been characteristically vague on this matter, leaving others to speculate. The difference between the two is that KG is a hot-headed, uneducated kid from the street while Duncan has a college degree which he took seriously and comes from a serene island background. They are just temperamentally different. Wouldn't want to face either of them one-on-one... |

| cant blame him kg slapped him in the head for no reason when they were younger during an altercation. They just have polar opposite personalities, would love to see them matchup in the finals( I think we match up best against the Spurs rather than the thunder or Lakers , so I am definitely rooting for the spurs in the WC) ok...that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever  I think the hate is mutual. I am sure KG believes that one or maybe two of Duncan's rings should be his. this one HAS to be my favorite delusional comment from a Celtics fan

and you wonder why Tim avoids the national media/reporters. he wasn't quoted to say this at all in his interview, or reveal anything that would suggest it, yet the SI author claimed it as fact. and despite the phenomenal season the Spurs have had, the one story everyone is jumping on is "a reliable source" that told a writer that Tim hates KG...
