CHICAGO (AP) Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose faces a recovery of eight months to a year in his recovery from knee surgery. The assessment by Dr. Brian Cole on Tuesday means the star point guard could return around Feb. 1 or miss next season. The doctor adds there is a chance Rose could be back sooner, but ''we're not going to rush it.'' The Bulls had already said Rose has a torn ligament in his left knee. Wonder if he's gonna make it all the way back. He's been a special player, and it would be a shame to lose him.

Why is this breaking news? A torn ACL usually takes 8-12 months of recovery. Best of luck to the dude, but if he makes any type of impact before '13-'14, he's ahead of the curve. |

Chicago may as well tank next season and get a lottery pick to compliment Rose when/if he returns. How long is he under contract there anyway? |
