Dawson returns

Dawson returns: Forward Eric Dawson, the former Sam Houston High star, was signed to a second 10-day contract and the reason was evident: A brutal schedule of four games in five nights that commences on Wednesday.

With their first back-to-back-to-back set beginning Friday and encompassing the length of Dawson’s deal, the big man will be available should Popovich opt to sit Duncan at any point.

“We’ve only had the four bigs all year,” Popovich said. “It helps when we do have a practice and we want to get a look at Eric. He’s done a fine job for the (Austin) Toros. It’s a little bit of a reward for him, too.”

They keep saying they need a big man to help, give the kid a chance.
Who knows, he just might be able to help.
He does have 6 fouls to work with.

Any 'new' big is better than no big if only for the practice fodder.

Who knows?, start him!

He didn't get much opportunity on the last 10-day due to the All Star break. Pop knows his D-League stats are impressive. Now he gets 3 days of team practice for Pop to see if those D-League numbers can somehow translate to the NBA. Meanwhile, are the Spurs going after a buyout big? Time is running out to integrate one into the system. Pop already has his hands full integrating the new acquisitions before Wednesday. The first few games starting Wednesday might see the Spurs out of sync.
