For every statistic, there's a reporter searching for meaning in the numbers. In the case of the Washington Capitals, it doesn't take much to see that their red-hot streak -- 10-1-0 since Jan. 5 -- coincides with Alex Ovechkin's reign as captain and coach Bruce Boudreau's decision to stick with the same lines night in and night out, or heck, even with the trade that brought Jason Chimera in from Columbus.
