It trickles down to those that put forth the effort... I would take those times over now in a heart beat.

Funny you say that. During the last election and first year of Obama you were hard pressed to find conservatives in this forum....... and there was a lot of action. Now, after a couple years of Obama, its been nothing but crickets . Interesting, huh?

Y-E-S if you think the unemployment number is good right now, wait until we "fall off the fiscal cliff" and Congress pass lower/middle class tax cuts while doing nothing for the wealthy: more revenue comes in and more public sector jobs become available and that sucker will get smaller. trickle down never worked and massive tax cuts never worked (see Dubya Bush era) while higher taxes to redistribute (not a dirty word because all taxes redistribute: from Social Security to Medicare to infrastructure to any government job) around does work (see Clinton era) and builds a surplus which we had which got flushed down the crapper by tax cuts

The issue is not whether taxes are redistributed or not. The issue is how the government redistributes the money that is collected through taxes. Some clarification is obviously needed here. Over one Trillion dollars has been identified as not being used or wasted altogether. Anyone ever hear of the Grace Commision or the IMF? If not it will be worth your while to better inform yourself about where our tax money really goes. While its easy to assume that all or even most of taxes are directly redistributed to the American people its just not the case. That being said an increase of taxes does not automatically guarantee more money for Obama phones, people, or programs. The one thing an increase of taxes does guarantee is a smaller pay check for everyone. |

For the record the Bush tax cuts doubled revenue as a matter of fact he set records for the amount collected. The problem is spending tripled causing deficits. Go and look at the record, every time taxes are lowered, Under Kennedy, Clinton, Reagen revenues go up. It is when we spend more than what we take in that deficits go up. Even Clinton had deficit years and balanced the budget one year!
