San Antonio Business Journal
Taco Cabana is changing up the routine at its company-owned stores.
The Tex-Mex restaurant chain will invest in a series of enhancements at its restaurants, add new items to its menu and unveil a new advertising campaign.
Starting Monday, Taco Cabana is putting Brisket Tacos on its menu. Cooks will take hickory-smoked, shredded brisket and wrap it in a tortilla with a customer’s choice of barbecue sauce or salsa. It is a limited time item. However, it the first of several new products planned for Taco Cabana for 2010 and beyond.
Taco Cabana is also adding a daily Happy Hour to the quick-service restaurant chain’s offerings in an effort to boost sales of its margaritas. These changes are part of the ongoing evolution of Taco Cabana. The company began as a taco stand more than 30 years ago.
Taco Cabana also will introduce new packaging, streamlined menus and counter displays.
Taco Cabana will launch its new ad campaign on May 3. The commercials will feature real cooks from restaurants.
“The ultimate goal is to provide guests with a high-quality Mexican food experience at a fair price,” says Taco Cabana Chief Marketing Officer Todd Coerver. “This campaign is about showcasing our cooks in the kitchen, who with great effort and care, prepare our food by hand.”
San Antonio-based Taco Cabana is a wholly owned subsidiary of Carrols Restaurant Group Inc.
