Medical group will expand - Audry's Mexican Restaurant will close its door and sell to a Medical Group
Tony Cantu's mother opened Audry's Mexican Restaurant back in 1949. It's a difficult decision to close the famous restaurant but he says the time has come. Cantu himself works long hours to keep the restaurant up and running. The Camden Medical Group nearby plans to expand along 601, 605 and 609 Camden.
Wednesday night the city's Historic and Design Review Commission decided it was okay to demolish the buildings by declaring the buildings had long outlived their historic value.
The San Antonio Conservation Society had said the structures should be preserved.
Attorney Bebb Francis represents Audry's. He said the Medical Group will design and build with respect to the River North Project as the city redevelops the neighborhood into a historic district.
