Fake H-E-B rig yields 2 tons of marijuana

HOUSTON — A fake grocery store truck with the logo of San Antonio-based H-E-B yielded $1.8 million worth of marijuana in Houston.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Tom Vinger says the cargo of more than two tons of marijuana, in packets, was unloaded Wednesday.

Vinger told The Associated Press that H-E-B had "nothing to do" with the "cloned" 18-wheeler or the 4,422 pounds of marijuana, which was confiscated.

So far no arrests.

Vinger declined to say where the truck was abandoned in Houston or who discovered it, other that H-E-B notified law officers Monday.

Vinger says more drug smugglers are using cloned vehicles and "by picking legitimate businesses, that helps cover their tracks."
