Hey England, you may have lost the war for independence, but finally, you're a winner!
The British launch of the PS3 was noticeably lacking the usual inaugural fanfare, but where the money had gone was no secret when Sony's Ray Maguire announced that the first 100 shoppers in line would each be receiving a 46" Bravia LCD TV on the house.
Sony finally wised up and realized that maybe they weren't winning over hearts with the PS3 and decided to bandage the wound to the tune of 100 free HDTVs.
Needless to say, the place went nuts with geek joy and the tiny nerd heart of 101st person in line exploded into a billion standard definition pieces.
