Got the chance to see The Shins at Madison Square Garden last week and wanted to spread the word that it was a really great show. Eventhough a lot of their stuff is on the mellow side, they keep the concert fun and find songs to rock-out on. They're famous for their ballads and the stuff from Garden State, which is great, but anyone who has listened to more of their catalog knows they are a very diverse and talented band, and it shows in the live performance.
You won't get the light show, or the mosh pit, or drum solo, but every now and again, 2 hours of solid songwriting is enough for a good night of great music. Don't know if they'll be in SA, or if they've already been there, but if you guys get the chance, definitly make the effort to see them.
