in fact, i think the drinking age should be lowered to 18 like the rest of the world. it takes the thrill out of it and you have fewer problems. i think a law like that is probably aimed more at the highschool crowd than the college crowd, anyways. you know...moms who host parties, and give their kids and friends booze. |

| The county's Social Host Ordinance was originally approved in June 2003. The ordinance imposes civil and criminal liability on adults who own or control private residences or private premises and fail to properly supervise or stop minors from obtaining, possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to direct Chief Administrative Officer Walt Ekard to toughen the ordinance by: -- making the law also apply to party hosts younger than age 21; -- imposing duties on party hosts including, but not limited to, verification of guests' ages, control of access to alcohol, control of the quantity of alcohol and supervision of minors; and -- amending the ordinance to eliminate any doubt that violation is a misdemeanor. ![]() A Social Host Ordinance??? Thats the funniest thing I have ever seen. And actually a minor is anyone UNDER the age of 18 |
