M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water

This one actually looks good. With Paul Giamatti as the lead, how bad could it be?

The only reason M has a bandwagon is people who loved The Sixth Sense and expect EVEN BETTER movies from him each and every time. Of course, this leads to people being wildly dissapointed. Signs was enjoyable. The Village was enjoyable. I didn't enjoy Unbreakable, but I know people who did.

I still feel like he stole money from me with the village, it sucked. And signs?! Aliens should research more before attacking a planet that's make up is 80% something that will kill you.

Movies with surprise endings generally suck, no? "The Sixth Sense" miraculously managed to escape sucking, which unfortunately encouraged Shamylan (sp?) to produce 3 more surprise ending movies. For the philosophers : is it a surprise ending when you know its gonna be a surprise ending?

Signs was his best movie, Mel Gibson at his best.

I think this guy is one of Hollywood's best directors, the only movie I havent seen of his is "Unbreakable", everything else he's made I've loved.

I hated Unbreakable, but I liked Signs.

Never bothered watching The Village, because the story didn't appeal to me.

This film looks interesting and I'll likely see it.

Sixth Sense was awesome. Signs was very good. The Village was good. And Unbreakable was alright... I like his movies but I'm always out to spot the "twist." I figured out The Village in the first 20 min.

I'll see it.
I really liked The Sixth Sense and The Village also. Signs was OK, but didn't care for Unbreakable at all. The "twist" in The Village really caught me off guard, the others, I saw it coming from a mile away.

M. Night cannot write a rounded, decent screenplay to save his life at this point. It's all clunky images and symbols littered about characters you could care less for. What makes a great "twist" movie is the ability to enjoy it after the fact, appreciating more subtle layers in place of what originally brought you.

That said, I'll see anything with Giamatti in the lead. Anything.

The only one I haven't liked is Signs.

looks ok. thing about his movies after sixth sense is that they were all advertised as the creepy spook movies when not even close.

I liked all his movies except Unbreakable. Obviously Sixth Sense was his best work. You can't compare directors to the pinnacle of their career every time they put out a new movie. Compared to other movies out their, I'd say just about all of his work is pretty darn good.
