Anyone played Shinning in the Darkness?

I know they had a sequal out but the original was the best. It was on Sega Genesis. I'am looking for a game that is LIKE the old game. Shinning was so great, I remember playing it over and over and over beating it. To me it just had a good flow to the game/strategy. I know it's old school but I'am looking for a current game as close as possible to Shinning for PC. Any help?

What type of game was it? Adventure, strategy, first person shooter?

It was adventure/role playing game. Consisted of a few characters and you had to save the princess who was taken from the king via a very bad person. Spent a lot of time in dungeons fighting creatures.
