Alonso to play Longoria's mum

Actress Maria Conchita Alonso has landed her dream role - as Eva Longoria's mother on her favourite TV show, Desperate Housewives.

The Grammy Award-winning singer and former Venezuelan beauty queen will play the mum of Longoria's sexy character, Gabrielle Solis, in an episode tentatively scheduled for 19 February.

Alonso's publicist, Rona Menashe, says, "She's ecstatic... She watches the show and loves it."

SHE'S caught in a tug-of-war between two men on-screen, and off it Eva Longoria's love life is just as dramatic.

The Desperate Housewives actress has apparently infuriated her basketball hero boyfriend Tony Parker by forming a "too close for comfort" friendship with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx.

And now the San Antonio Spurs star has issued an ultimatum to Foxx: "Stay away from my woman or I'll slam-dunk you into next week."

Brunette beauty Eva and Hollywood hottie Jamie set tongues wagging this week when they appeared inseparable at a Golden Globes after-show party in Los Angeles.

The pair are said to have had eyes only for each other as they partied at the Instyle bash, where they were photographed giggling and hugging.

When they left they jumped into a waiting limo and 5ft 10ins Ray star Jamie was seen with his arm around her, presumably trying to keep her warm.

Their antics haven't impressed 23-year-old Tony, who only this week was described by Eva as being the potential father of her children.


We're told he called Jamie and told him in no uncertain terms to keep his distance from Eva, 30, whom Tony has been dating for the past year.


Our insider says: "Tony was at boiling point when he heard about the amount of time Eva and Jamie had been spending together.


"But he went nuclear when he heard they'd been whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears at the Golden Globes. He managed to get hold of Jamie and has warned him to back off.


"He's crazy about Eva and doesn't want anything or anyone getting in the way of their relationship."


Eva, who shot to fame as the fiery Gabrielle Solis in the hit Channel 4 series, insists she and Tony are very much together and says she and Jamie, 38, are - you guessed it - "just good friends".


But last week they were again inseparable at Mary J Blige's surprise birthday party, leaving the do together in Jamie's two-seater Lamborghini. Eva also appears in the video of his new single Predictable, out later this year.


Yesterday a spokeswoman for Jamie played down the spat. She said: "This is only because she's in the video. People are making stuff up."


A source close to Eva added: "She and Tony are still very much together."
