New Zelda game to utilize Revolution Controller

The Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube) will be made to utilize Revolution's controller.

http://www.twistedpolygon.net/content/view/109/48

It's great to see them adding compatibility now that they can....unfortunately Zelda is basically the only game left worth waiting for to be released on Gamecube. But it's not such a bad thing, since Revolution is backwards compatible, and those who didn't own a Gamecube can buy it and even take advantage of the new controller with it.

Now the only question is when does Zelda come out? Do they wait till November and release it the same time as the Rev or does it come out sooner? EBGames.com has a 4/1/06 date for release so hopefully it comes out around that time so i can play through it once on the gamecube and then again on Rev.

Show me where Nintendo has said that the Rev will come out in November.

Not specifically November, but I did find this on IGN:

Quote:
Q: When will Revolution be released?

A: "If you're asking for a specific date for our next system -- we don't have one. Nintendo is going to remain competitive and will launch around the same time as competitors -- not later than," said Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs in a May 2004 interview. This used to be the company line. But at E3 2005, Nintendo sang a different tune. No longer concerned about beating Sony to market, Nintendo executives said simply that Revolution would "launch in 2006."

During a conference call discussing its financial status, Revolution memory maker MoSys said that the console would launch in mid-2006.

Microsoft will debut Xbox 360 this November in America. Sony said at E3 2005 that it would like to launch PlayStation 3 by March 2006. Given these plans, Revolution will likely be the last system to hit the market.
So if the PS3 is in March and the Rev will come out after the PS3, November sounds about right. Wishful thinking but maybe 06/06/06?

yeh I was pretty much thinking all along it's an August/September release. It really doesn't matter...a game like that is worth waiting for, because if it's anything like Ocarina of Time(which is appears to be), it'll be an instant classic.

December 5, 2005 - Asking a Nintendo executive for Revolution's official launch date will always yield exactly the same response, which is, simply, "2006." In the past, the Big N's president, Satoru Iwata, explained that the company could not afford to launch after Sony, whose PlayStation 3 could hit retail shelves in Japan as early as March 2006 by some reports. But late last year Nintendo seemed to collectively enable the possibility that Revolution could be last to debut, with execs instead saying that the machine was being positioned to a different market.

Nintendo will very likely reveal the official Revolution launch date to the public at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2006 next May in Los Angeles, but developers have already been given a decidedly narrowed time frame. According to studios we spoke with under the condition of anonymity, Nintendo has told them that Revolution will debut in America "during the week of Thanksgiving 2006."

This isn't exactly a shocker. We would've pegged the machine to launch on November 18, 2006 -- the same as GameCube five years before it. But even so, it's the most concrete evidence yet of a November debut and it effectively quashes rumors of an early 2006 debut.

Sources we spoke with were unable to divulge whether or not Revolution would enjoy a global launch. However, previous on the record comments from Nintendo of Europe's Jim Merrick indicate that the company would like to release the console everywhere within 14 weeks of initial launch.

ALso there's no way PS3 comes out in March they haven't even shown gameplay yet. Maybe it makes it out in Japan in March but i suspect maybe summer time release in Japan and a November Release for US/UK

When you told us about this in the chat a few days ago, I thought you meant that the game was going to be on the Revolution. Totally forgot the game was going to be for the GC, brain fart. This is going to be some much ownage!

Have y'all seen this video?

http://gameover.files.sapo.pt/revolu...troller_fm.wmv

Seems like the Revolution just went "gold"

http://www.playfuls.com/itnews_497.html

As many of you gamers out there, "going gold" in the case of a game means that its final version has been sent out to be mass multiplied. Well, extending a little bit this definition it's safe to say that Nintendo's future gaming console "went gold".
Thus, according to gamemag.ru, who is citing Inside Gamer, is seems that Nintendo Revolution’s configuration is complete and the device is ready for mass production.
And since the release date for the Revolution is in May, that gives the Japanese manufacturers 5 months in order to manufacture enough consoles. Well, it’s hard to define "enough" in this case, as the success of Nintendo’s console is relatively uncertain, at this moment.

The upcoming Zelda game will be playable on the Nintendo Revolution controller utilizing its unique features.
According to NGC Magazine, Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Gamecube will be playable on the Revolution using its unique controller, a release date of November 2006 was also confirmed.

The article states "NGC can exclusively reveal that Twilight Princess will be playable on the forthcoming Revolution using the upcoming console’s unique controller. Zelda will actually ‘bring in’ the Revolution by launching fairly close to the new system, which is set to be released around November of next year, according to our sources."
