I'll post a TV show and then someone else will post its spin-off(s). Then they will post aTV show and someone else will post its spin-off(s), and so on. We'll start with an easy one: Cheers begat which two TV shows? 1. 2. |

Cheers had fraisier and The Tortellis, but i don't think The Tortellis made it past the pilot did it? Here is an easy one. Happy Days had 3 spin offs 1. 2. 3.

Happy Days had 3 spin offs 1. Joanie loves Chachi 2. Mork and Mindy 3. Laverne and Shirley now can you name the show that gave us Happy Days? As for the Tortellis I don't know how long it lasted, but it definetly made the airwaves at least once. Now for the next show: Golden Girls 1. 2. Edit: Damn you Taco!!! |

in response to Taco According to "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network and Cable TV Shows, 1946-Present," which counts "grandchildren," AITF is the all-time spin-off champion. "All in the Family's" three official spin-offs were "Gloria," "The Jeffersons" and "Maude." "Maude" spun-off "Good Times" and "The Jeffersons" spun-off "Checking In" (a short-lived series featuring Marla Gibbs' Florence character). That makes a total of five AITF spin-offs. Yeah I cheated a little, so sue me Now I ask again: Golden Girls: 1. 2. |

Yes that's one of them and the other one invloved one of their neighbors. By the way, there was apparently another Happy Days spin-off called "Out of the Blue." And I ask again, in addition to the missing Golden Girls spin-off, what show begat Happy Days? |

Happy Days came from Love American Style!!! And Empty Nest was considered a spin-off of Golden Girls, as well as a show I think was called Nurses- or was it considered a spin-off of Empty Nest.

| Love American Style Trivia: This series had more indirect spin-offs than any other American TV series. The following series can trace their roots back to this show (most via the episode "Love and Happy Days"): "Barefoot in the Park" (1970), "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" (1972), "Happy Days" (1974), "Laverne & Shirley" (1976), "Laverne & Shirley with the Fonz" (1976), "Blansky's Beauties" (1977), "Mork & Mindy" (1978), "Out of the Blue" (1979), "Fonz and the Happy Days Gang" (1980), "Laverne and Shirley in the Army" (1981), "The Mork & Mindy/Laverne & Shirley with the Fonz Show" (1982), "Joanie Loves Chachi" (1982) - and possibly others |

I found this on the net It's a common belief that George Lucas' American Graffiti (1973) was the inspiration for this series. In actuality, the pilot for the series (seen on "Love, American Style" (1969)) aired before Lucas began production on his film. However, the success of that movie caused producer Garry Marshall to reconsider his failed pilot and turn it into a series. |

![]() The Danny Thomas show begat The Andy Griffith Show, which in turn spun-off Gomer Pyle USMC and Mayberry RFD. Now somebody do the Mary Tyler Moore Show 1. 2. 3. |
