Okla. High School Hoops Team Loses 112-2

Link

EARLSBORO, Okla. (AP) - The Hanna High School basketball team can take some consolation: It didn't get shut out.

It did, however, lose 112-2 on Friday night to Earlsboro.

"It was embarrassing to watch," Earlsboro coach Jim Walling told The Oklahoman. "But you can't just tell your kids not to score. I've been coaching 27 years and have never been involved in something like this."

The Wildcats led 42-0 after one quarter and 73-2 at halftime. Walling pulled his starters in the second half, and game officials kept a running clock, stopping it only for free throws.

Each player on Earlsboro's 10-man boys' roster scored. Seven players finished in double figures.

How can anyone possibly be this bad???

Why leave the starters in even that long? Clearly, everyone could tell by the first quarter that the game was going to be blowout .

(I just noticed that this same story has been covered in another thread--lock this one, eh?)

I heard the losing team was a highschool for the blind. That game was totally unfair.

Once my office softball team lost 70 to 3, but to be fair we were more into drink beer than palying the game. However, I bet that even drunk, our office team would have done better than 2 points in a basketball game.

My high school varsity team once won a game 114 - 26. After the first quarter, our coach told us to shoot only three pointers. We played zone defense, did not move, only stood there with our hands up. The only time we could shoot something other than a three-pointer was if we got an offensice rebound.

My highschool team won a game 96-26. We didnt shoot anything the last few minutes of the game. I just ran around with the ball and killed the clock.
