Paris Marathon 2004 : I DID IT !

I did it! yeah i'm proud to say it now
that was so hard.. i couln't believe that would have been so tough

my official time : 3h53'24"
it's a kinda great time for my first marathon, considering i've been injured 2 weeks in february and couldn't train

it seemed like these 42km would never end. i had a terrible failure at km 30. but a finally manage to finish well that race

i wanna thank the oranges, bananas, grapes & sugar which gave me the sufficient energy to finish

in the future, i'd like to run the new york marathon, but also Berlin, Rotterdam, Barcelona, and Paris (for a better time)

here's some pics i've taken in the Champs Elysées avenue with my cell phone while preparing to start (8:45 AM)

i didn't take pics in the end, i was so exhausted that i forgot to take pics

Excellent to hear FT. I have been competing in athletics since I was 5 years old. I am still going, but I am more of a sprinter than a distance runner. I don't think I could ever finish a marathon.

Congratulations, and I wish you all the best for your future marathons!

Wow, congratulations man. Great job. I don't think I could do one of those. I've done the walking stuff(Aids Walk), but i doubt i'd make it across the line.

Great job...I know exactly how you felt. I did my first and last Marathon couple of yrs ago in Dallas (White Rock). My time wasn't nearly as good as yours, 5h 15min. I had a bad case of shin splints all through training and at the race. I over pronate, and have flat feet. I want to do another one, maybe take my time training this time and not rush into to it like last time.

Anybody can do it, if you train for it. I wasn't a runner before I started training for it. Do it with somebody you know and it will be fun. Make sure the person you train with runs about the same pace you do, that way you won't be holding each other back.

There is no feeling like it when you pass the finish line. Congratulations French Touch!!!! Where you given the option to buy the picture of you passing the finish line?

That's amazing FT... I've never even considered running a marathon (I'd die around 10 miles)... Be proud

Good job!!! Paris has such beautiful architecture. If I were to run, I'd be looking at the buildings the whole time.
