You hardly hear of accidents like this on the riverwalk. POSTED: 8:38 am CDT August 4, 2005 UPDATED: 9:16 am CDT August 4, 2005 SAN ANTONIO -- The body of a man was discovered Thursday morning floating on the San Antonio River in the River Walk. The victim is believed to be homeless. The discovery was made at 7 a.m. in the 100 block of Villa, where operation crews on barges noticed something unusual in the river. Upon further inspection, they found the body and contacted police. There appeared to be no obvious signs of trauma. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine a cause of death. Park Police told KSAT 12 News that they saw the man Wednesday leaning on a railing too close to the river and asked him to be careful. Copyright 2005 by KSAT.com All rights reserved.
