The Charlie and Chancellor show sounds good! Big shakeups in store for WOAI-AM and Ticket 760 Thursday July 14, 1:31 pm ET Clear Channel Communications Inc. flagship stations WOAI-AM 1200 and KTKR-AM (Ticket 760) will undergo dramatic programming changes beginning Aug. 8. That's according to Nate Lundy, program director for the two San Antonio stations, who defines the moves as a "major" shifting of on-air lineups. On Aug. 8, longtime San Antonio and Clear Channel (NYSE: CCU - News) radio personality Charlie Parker will transition from WOAI to Ticket 760, where he will be joined by WOAI-TV sports anchor and reporter David Chancellor. That new show, "Mornings with Charlie and Chance," will air from 7 to 10 a.m. weekdays, essentially replacing the show currently co-hosted by Jeff Vexler and Walter Pasacrita. Pasacrita's and Vexler's "Sports Talk San Antonio" show will move back into an afternoon drive slot, airing weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. Replacing Parker as host for WOAI's "San Antonio's First News" morning show will be Joe Pagliarulo. Lundy says Pagliarulo will come to the Alamo City from Albany, N.Y., where he works for television station WRGB. "I am so excited about this opportunity," Pagliarulo says. "It's truly one of the best-known, most respected radio stations in the country and I'm blown away that I am joining the team. And I'm so happy I'll now call San Antonio home." Lundy is equally fired up. "In my 15-plus years of radio, I have been a part of some line-up changes that were big," Lundy explains. "But this one is by far the biggest and most exciting." Lundy adds, "San Antonio is about to get even more live, local programming to go along with some other very fun, new shows." One of those new shows is "Prime Time San Antonio with The Thompson Brothers," which will launch on Aug. 1, according to Lundy. Brothers Rob and Jason Thompson have built up a national following with their "Hardcore Sports" show, which currently airs weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. on Ticket 760 and via their regular appearances on the Fox Sports Radio network. Their new time slot will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Lundy says the new show will bring the "perfect mix of news, entertainment, pop culture, and of course, the sports talk that they are known for locally." As for Parker, he goes back to Ticket 760 where he helped launch that station years ago with a morning show. "I have really enjoyed my time as the morning host on WOAI," Parker says. "But this opportunity is perfect for me. It's a chance for me to get back to the fun, the attitude, and the challenge of sports talk radio, which anyone who knows me will tell you is right where I belong." Lundy says the moves will also allow WOAI to move Sean Hannity's program from a tape-delayed position into a live slot on weekdays from 2 to 4 p.m. Published July 14, 2005 by the San Antonio Business Journal |

I knew the Bros had potential back when they were doing Saturdays only. They are better than anyone that FoxSports has tried to stick in the 2-5 times slot since Kylie and Booms left. I used to call in on to the Thomspons on Saturdays from time to time and Rob used to get online at the old 760 forum, talking college f-ball, Texas music and beer. It was truly greatness. |

They need to take the Thompson Bros off the air entirely. They suck. They're both idiots. One more than the other, but both idiots nevertheless. How they ever got a national gig is beyond me. |

I was hoping they were getting rid of Jeff Bolton on WOAI. I'm a conservative, but how much conservative radio do you really need? At some point, one guy is saying what the last guy said. And the guy before him. And the morning guy...etc. I guess the listeners are there, but AM radio could lose several personalities and the content wouldn't change much.

These two guys are the best now here, and they are indeed improving, sometimes they do some real funny stuff, sometimes they go a bit overboard, still they are way better than DHarris and Walter the sports show that was there once.... On others I always thought Walter is not very good, and mostly as rude as some NYkers, but Jeff Vexler is not bad though. Jeff Vexler does have good potential to improve in the future, the kid has some good takes.
