Best/Worst Movies

OK, this may have been a topic once upon a time, but I'd love to get people's opinions on the best and worst films you've ever seen. For me -

Best: Seven Samurai
Worst: Manos, the Hands of Fate

Have fun!

i saw "Fantastic Four" last night. a ton of people say that movie sucks, but that movie was actually pretty good. i thought it was better than x-men. in fact, X-men kinda dissapointed me becuase the movie portrayed the characters as extremely weak when their cartoon identites made them look so powerful. "Fantastic Four" was awesome.

but here's my list of favorites that lived up to their expectations and movies i was discusted with

favorites
1. fantastic four
2. scream 1
3. matrix revolutions
4. troy
5. gladiator (russel crowe)
6. hitch
7. triple x
8. bram stokers dracula
9. all lord of the rings
10. longest yard

discusting
1. cabin fever
2. darkness
3. be cool
4. final destination
5. vanilla sky
6. the grudge
7. kalifornia
8. from dusk till dawn part 2
9. alexander
10. i-robot
11. boogeyman (how did this make it into theatres)

Best is hard... I think Macario, but maybe for sentimental reasons.

Worst is easier : Birth. Easily the worst movie I've seen in the past 5 years.

Best - Depending on my mood its either "The Mission" or "Ghostbusters"

Worst - "deep blue sea" and "the grudge" were both pretty awful IMO.

I like Strangelove and Barry Lyndon, though Lolita is also excellent.

Worst: Dude where's my car, Harold and Kumar, The Perfect Score, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II are all movies I saw recently that were TERRIBLE.

I thought Bogart did a great job with his character, but I felt like the story was kinda mediocre. Just my take, but maybe I prefer love stories with a happier ending.

best is too hard, i love so many movies... a few of my favorites are big lebowski (coen brothers films), magnolia, stoned age, bullets over broadway (and other woody allen films), mel brooks films, christopher guest films etc...

as for worst films, well, lets be honest, most of the "worst" films never even make to the big screen and are probably never watched... so ill answer with 'worst-popular-movies' in mind... which there are many of.

worst:
triple x
saw (extremely overhyped)
dude wheres my car
girl next door
dodgeball
pitch black
along came polly
i robot
resident evil
the whole ten yards
etc etc

This should really be titled Favorite/Least favorite Movies.

Some of these choices are ridiculous.

Ultra violent movies are not to my taste. Anthony Burgess' vision of a dystopian future was disturbing without being enlightening. I go to movies for entertainment, and I'm old-fashioned enough that I don't find this sort of thing entertaining. I know there are piles of unpleasantness that exist in real life, but I don't feel the need to be confronted with them on a night out at the movies.
