HARARE, Zimbabwe -- A man in Zimbabwe is facing charges that he bit off another man's finger then chewed and swallowed it during a brawl at a bar.

Court officials said the incident began when the accused got into an argument with his wife. Officials said he became enraged when another man tried to intervene.

They said the two began fighting and that's when the first man bit off and swallowed the other man's finger.

The 39-year-old is now facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He has since been freed on bail and is due back in court in two weeks.
