Good luck with the job. I think I started at $3.75 an hour or something close to that for my first job...of course that was like 13 years ago. It was a summer hire job when I lived in Germany. I worked in a counter intelligence department. I even had to get a security clearance. You would think that would be cool for a first job...but it kind of sucked. I had to be escorted everywhere..even to the bathroom. Last edited by omax; 10-29-04 at 12:04 AM. |

The funny thing was, they couldn't get mine finished on time. As a result, I had to work at a building literally in the middle of nowhere in the desert because I didn't have the appropriate clearance. (What was the clearance for, you may wonder...literally, all it did was let me cross a "secure" parking lot unescorted to the building where I should have been working. That's it!) The best part was, the government finally sent me the clearance two weeks before I left...only 2.5 months late in a 3 month job! Gotta love it--government efficiency at its finest.
