How many of you have a tattoo???

I have wanted one for a while, and I might go TODAY !! I know i want a cross on my right upper arm, and i just might get it. If i dont go today i might go friday when i get paid depending on the price...but i just wanted to know...how much does it hurt, and is the recovery a pain to deal with??

The pain isn't too bad; it's more of a nuisance, than anything. Of course, that depends on what part of your body it is . It just grates on your nerves. Recovery is easy. If you want one, don't worry about the pain, but do remember that it's going to be a part of you forever.

The arm doesn't hurt too much, unless it wraps around to the delicate skin near the armpit. And as long as you use the bachcitracin (sp?) ointment, you'll be completely recovered within a week and 1/2 or two.

The pain is tolerable; I have two, one on my arm and another in the middle of my back. Be careful though, tattoos can be addicting..

Not a good idea, Taco. The amount of blood circulation in fingers, in addition to all the movement fingers are prone to and the amount of exposure they have to the sun, means that ink has trouble "sticking." Which means that you would either have a nasty-ass looking tatoo in about three-five years, or one that demanded touch-ups constantly. Plus, there are losta lotsa nerves in your hands, which means lotsa lotsa pain.

Where in Leviticus? If you mean "They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh." - Leviticus 21:5 , then I can think of several high-profile Jews that don't observe that law.
