To any computer God out there I need a little pc help.

I think I accidentally deleted my sound. no music comes from my speakers any more. When I try to play my mp3's it states that no sound card is available. When I go to the start menu/acceseries/volume control it states that "there are no mixer devices available. to install mixer devices go to control panel" I have windows xp and if anyone can help i'd appreciate it. It was working just fine this past weekend

Go to device manager to check wether your sound card is installed properly.

If there is an exclamatin mark there, re-install driver.

yeah, you tend to pick things like this up when you're too lazy to reach for the mouse

a couple of things could have happened, driver was deleted in which case restarting your PC would make it reinstall..........your soundcard came loose, you'd have to open the pc and reseat it........or your soundcard is toast...buy another one.

NP dude, delete it and restart your pc...what was the last thing you did before this happened? it's almost like you did a clean install or something in your registry got fubar'd. what kind of PC is it? what kind of soundcard do you have? sounds like you're gonna have to download the latest ones and reinstall them.

stew, NP

ok when you do the system properties..what does it say under system? it's either XP or 2000. it can't be both. in any case, did you try to delete the device and restart? what kind of PC is it again? looks like you're gonna need to get the drivers for it.
