Yep--as the name would suggest, it's a very beautifully wooded area. Great place for golf and concerts.

I think the Woodlands is just south of Philadelphia, Tx.

They have the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. I'm pretty sure that's an outdoor amphitheatre.

I believe you can use the Sam Houston Tollway (aka Beltway 8) to skirt around Houston to get there from I-10, though.
