$chooled: The Price of College Sports | |
There’s a sports documentary making the rounds on Time Warner Cable called “$chooled: The Price of College Sports” and I watched it for the first time a couple days ago and it is featured on EPIX (TWC channels 595-599). It examines how college sports in America became a billion dollar enterprise built on the backs of its unpaid athletes. If you want a ‘history lesson’ on amateurism and the rules the college athletes have to live by, this will be an interesting documentary to watch. I believe it first came out in Oct 2013 and is based on a book by Taylor Branch called ‘The Cartel: Inside the Rise and Imminent Fall of the NCAA’. It’s length is approx. 1hr 30mins and I believe there's also a DVD out there as well. Very interesting.
