The Toronto Raptors made a big move early in the season when they traded Rudy Gay to Sacramento. The team, to the surprise of many NBA observers, took off after the trade and are in a battle for the No. 3 seed in the East. The Raptors also made a very small deal on trade deadline day in February and that's paid off, too. The trade brought Nando de Colo from the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Austin Daye.

The Raptors are without Kyle Lowry due to an injury, which has allowed de Colo to get some run off the bench. On Saturday, the guard played 19 minutes and scored seven points, while handing out six assists.

"Just being aggressive and playing my game," de Colo told the Toronto Sun. "When a shot is open, you have to take it. Whether I'm playing the one (point guard) or two (shooting guard), staying focused on my job and nothing more."

de Colo is set to be a free agent in July and he will be restricted if the Raptors tender a qualifying offer by June 30. The qualifying offer is worth $1,828,750, which might be too high for the Raptors should the guard just sign a one-year contract. As a result, Toronto may pass with the idea of bringing him back as a lower salary. de Colo may look at options overseas, too, as at best he will be the third-guard on the Raptors next season.
