While TV viewership is down in general for the NBA, that hasn’t been a problem locally according to Nielsen’s annual Year in Sports Media Report. Outside of Oklahoma City, no other NBA market has a larger percentage of fans who attended games, watched on television or listened via radio over the past 12 months than San Antonio at 60 percent.

Other interesting tidbits from the study:
* Viewership of the Finals increased by five percent.
* Five of the top 10 most Tweeted sporing events were NBA games, with only the Super Bowl drawing more attention than Games 6 and 7 of the Finals.
* Almost half (45 percent) of the NBA’s viewership is under the age of 35.
