Ashton Kutcher tops the Forbes
magazine list of highest-paid TV actors.
Thanks to CBS's Two and a Half Men
, where he has starred since Charlie Sheen's dramatic exit, Kutcher tops the list with estimated earnings of $24 million between June 2012 and June 2013, the magazine
This is despite the fact that the show's numbers are down significantly in the new season, Forbes
says. In the first week, 11.6 million people tuned in to watch, compared to the show's previous peak of 28 million viewers.
Still, nearly 12 million viewers is nothing to sneeze at, and CBS is unlikely to can the show. And Kutcher's pay will grow even more once his episodes go into syndication, which is where the real money is made in TV.
It's some consolation for Kutcher given that his latest movie failed at the box office. He starred as Steve Jobs in a biopic, Jobs
, about the Apple founder's life but Forbes said it made only about $16 million — way less than he made in one year on a TV sitcom.
Kutcher's co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus Jones also make the list: Cryer is in second place with $21 million and Jones, who may be working his last year on the show, ranks seventh with $11 million.
