Venturing into the nightclub industry wasn't a slam dunk for Tony Parker. The upscale Nueve Lounge, which the San Antonio Spurs point guard and his brothers opened last year, announced on social media sites last week that it was shuttered on July 27. Earlier that Saturday, the bar had encouraged fans of its Facebook page to call for VIP reservations. “The time has come, San Antonio: All good things must come to an end,” the most recent Facebook post reads. “Nueve Lounge officially closed our doors this past Saturday night and we want to thank everyone who came and supported us in this endeavor. “We had a great time making memories with you and will always remember them.”
The establishment featured four VIP areas, including a private room lined with mahogany shelves for cigars and wine storage and private lockers. To ensure patrons knew whose name was behind the venue, a large 9 made of stone was set into the dance floor. San Antonio Express-News
