They would waive him if they needed the roster spot, but they don't.
Spurs will keep Blair on board as a backup in case of injuries, then probably let him walk in free agency to lose his salaray. There's no trade out there that makes any sense for anyone.
First, since no one's come in here and said my theory was crap, I'll assume that my searches were tougher than I originally thought.
But, if they unload him by the the trade deadline and give his $1M to another team, it's a bonus. Greg Oden (as long as there is zero guarantee)? But's it's money off the cap number.
You might even call it Money For Nothing.
