When I was picked up as a juvenile for drinking under age, the policeman told me ‘ignorance of the law is no excuse’. But what broke my back was the judge telling me he never wanted to see me in his court again and I told him I didn’t want to see him either. The bailiff, a guy who blocked out the sun, escorted me out of the court. No more run-ins with the law, straight arrow am I, and sober too. Everybody needs a little reality check every once in a while.
Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.
